TALENTS INTRODUCTION

Talents are your way of being a complete and utter badass! Create anything and everything that you want to create! Talents are skillful maneuvers that allow your character to really show off their stuff. They can be executed differently depending on the situation you're in. For example, a talent called "Run and Shoot" allows your character to go up to a certain distance continuously firing their weapon, but requires an acrobatics check. It could be your character merely running, or how about sliding down a hill? Or running along a wall? The DC for the check might be a higher or lower, but the vision of the talent stays true. Use the guidelines below to create yours.

A rule about talents. If your talent allows your character to move. The movement for this ability happens after the regular movement for your turn. Talents count as casting magic or making attacks, using stamina or mana to do perform them.

Creating Your Talent

The first thing that every talent needs is a description. Give it a name. Write out what the talent is meant to do, how it is meant to look, and what it is meant to accomplish. The description does not need to be super detailed since situations change.

The second thing your talent will need is a primary dice. The primary dice is meant to be rolled to decide the success of the talent. You're rolling a D20 no matter what, but what accompanies the D20 is what you're choosing here. It can be anything that correctly goes with the talent, from a skill, knowledge, performance, to an attack. If creating a talent that calls for multiple attacks, costs stack, and multiple rolls will be used for it. If an attack fails, the talent fails and ends after the failed roll.

The third thing your talent will need is a secondary dice or two. If your talent is meant to last for multiple rounds, you'll add a d4. If your talent is meant to heal or damage, then you will add a d6. The charts below will aid you in the building of your talent.

Lastly, you will need to calculate the stamina cost of your talent.

Talent Rules:

#1) Talents are not able to be based off of ability scores.
#2) Talents do not take mana.
#3) If a talent includes the usage of a spell, mana costs are used normally.
#4) Lowering Stamina costs by 1 is 25 experience.

A TALENTS DIFFICULTY LEVEL

Unique to talents is their Difficulty Level. A talents difficulty level heavily decides the amount of stamina the talent will take, but does not add to the experience cost. The GM will decide the difficulty of a talent after is is created.

TALENT ENHANCEMENTS

Depending on the point of your talent,  you may require extra dice in order to make it. Many talents will use your regular attacks and weapons in order to implement them. This chart below is meant to aid you in creating talents that work outside of your normal attacks. For example, "sneak attack" or "weapon focus" would be created here.

SECONDARY DICE

EXPERIENCE COST

STAMINA COST
D4805 per D4
D6602 per D6
1 (Duration)505 per round
1 (Damage)302 per damage
1 (Accuracy)301 per increase

TALENT RANGES

This is indeed the same table as the one used in the magic system, but unlike magic, how far your talent moves will effect the energy cost (stamina). Though "radius" of a talent would not normally be a thing, you will use this chart in order to figure out those costs as well.
